I Didn't Just Visit Africa. I Built a Life There.
Over 25 years living, guiding, and selling safaris across Tanzania and beyond — Safari Skills 101 is everything I know, distilled for travel advisors who want to sell Africa with real authority.
From the Serengeti to Your Sales Calls
My journey into African safaris wasn't exactly "normal." I didn't just join the industry — I packed up my life, moved to Tanzania, and built a safari lodge in the wild bush. As a woman. Surrounded by hyenas. With no blueprint except determination and a sense of humor. (Both were essential.) That experience — the chaos, the beauty, the sheer stubbornness it took — is what makes everything I teach real.
I lived in Tanzania for over 15 years, learning from incredible guides, working with local communities, and discovering what truly makes a safari luxurious — and what makes it sell. Before this I would direct luxury tour companies and was one of the first travel advisors to design and sell fully independent tours (FITs) in the luxury market. At a time when everyone was selling group packages, I was building bespoke, tailor-made itineraries for discerning travelers who wanted something extraordinary. That pioneering approach shaped everything I know about selling Africa at the highest level.
I've written three books about Africa — because one wasn't enough. Safari Skills 101 is the course and manual you're holding now. Tanzania 101 is the insider's guide to the country I called home for over a decade. And Hakuna Frikin Matata is my memoir: the raw, funny, and deeply personal story of a single woman who moved to the Tanzanian bush and built a safari lodge from the ground up. If you want to understand why I teach the way I do, that book is where it starts.
This course is not theory. It's not fluff. It's decades of real stories, real clients, real challenges, and real wins — distilled into everything you need to sell African safaris with confidence, authenticity, and the kind of insider expertise that sets you apart from every other advisor out there. So grab a pen, pour a glass of wine (or a cold Tusker if you want to be on theme), and let's dive in.

Why She Built This Course
Most advisors sell Africa from a brochure. I want you to sell it from experience — even if you haven't been yet. That's what Safari Skills 101 gives you: the knowledge, the language, and the confidence to close safari bookings like a specialist.
